Cold production systems
A cold production system using an absorption machine, which takes advantage of the residual heat from the cogeneration module. For use in the food and chemical industries, and many other applications.
Runs on both Natural Gas and Diesel fuel.
Cogeneration applications that produce hot water for heating are widely used throughout Europe. Because the demand for heat is seasonal, this system would not be cost-effective if the heat from the cogeneration modules were not used during the summer.
In the summer, what is really needed is cold water for air conditioning, which is usually obtained through refrigeration compressors with high electricity consumption.
As an effective alternative solution, absorption machines are now being used. They are fed by the hot water from the cogeneration modules, and provide cold water without consuming electrical energy. This makes it possible to uniformise the heat energy demand curve for the cogeneration receiving installations, while also reducing the electric bill. This system is being successfully used not only in air conditioning applications for the tertiary sector, but also for important industrial applications in the food, chemical and other industries.
